Group Meeting
We have decided exactly whihc version of 'Gold' we're going to use and have all confirmed our four locations in enfield town. Also, we are awaiting the go-ahead to purchase items for our shoot.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
on friday we're going to go to central london and check out a number of locations e.g. trafalgar square, leicter square, natuaral history mueseum, southbank and we need some stairs....enfield town can still be used as another location or as a back up.
We've decided we're going to use some graphic matches in our footage...good visual hooks etc etc
We're still going to keep a loose storyline so that the audience but make everything abstract (use editing to mkae the audience create their own more detailed storyline)
I really feel we've moved forward today and everything seems to be coming together =]

Hat Possibilities
We think we need a hat for Cat during the narrative portion. Here are some hats I found just now on the internet.

Femme Fatale Props
Miss Thrasher brought in her femme-fatale-style hat and cigarette holder and they look quite good.

Hat:

Cigarette Holder:

What do we reckon? Shall we try and get some of that veil-netting stuff for the hat?
Things we need for the femme fatale character:
- Hat?
- Cigarette holder?
- Red lipstick- Saxon said she'd bring some in tomorrow (10th September)--I now have it (Angela, 10th September)
- Face makeup/foundation/powder and some to possibly add highlights/shadows to the face subtley (though could go very wrong)
- Mascara
- Wicked femme-fatale style dress/skirty outfit
- Coat- possibly mine?
- High-heeled shoes
- Seamed stocking? (or too much?)
Though we still need to watch tons of films noir to get the costume etc. spot on.
Rekon we should do a quickie test-shoot tomorrow in the media block of the dashing femme fatale? =0

Detective Costume
Hi this is just copied and pasted from my blog because I thought it's probably relevant =)
On the detective character:
He will need to be a hardcore, conventional, cliche, iconic detective man to make his identity/character type and hence the genre of the 'film' and what is going on in the narrative clear. Hence his costume will clearly be VERY important.

........hat hat hat hat. We must have a hat like this!

(eBay items).

Images of Film Noir era detectives:
coming soon...
Detective Hat
We must have a good hat. Quick google search of 'film noir' presented me with the following images (these all taken from first two pages I believe):

........hat hat hat hat. We must have a hat like this!Beige/Camel trenchcoat/raincoat
I think veeeery important. Second only to hat. See above 'detective hat' pictures, and most feature such a coat.

Costume Idea: Women's coat
Might be a bit early for talking about costumes for the narrative portion of the video but I bought a coat in TK Maxx the other day for £17 (not with the project specifically in mind) and I think it's really nice and possibly might be appropriate for some of the shots of the femme fatale?
Description: Its sort of beige/coat coloured, double-breasted, flattering/womanly fit, and about knee length (this might be inappropriate for the purpose, as perhaps conventionally femme fatales wore longer coats?).
Will post some images up soon.
Obviously we'd need to do some research into the films and archetypal characters before making any decisions on costume here, however, but it's an idea.
